What is an Eyetracking system?

An Eyetracking system as presented here is a device which can translate eye movement into the movement of a pointer on a computer screen. It allows easy control of a computer without using any other parts of the body but one´s eyes.

What is the objective of my development?

The challenge was to

• create a device that can determine the position of the pupil and
• use this data to gain control of the pointer on a computer screen

What for ?

• With this Eyetracking system handicapped persons are given the opportunity to use a computer almost as easily as anybody else.
• Knowledge about the eye movement can be useful to look further into the process of reception and recognition of data by the human eye/brain.
